Reverse description A long ornate cross pattée divides the field into four quadrants, each containing a quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Burgundian territories: the fleurs-de-lis of France and the rampant lion of Brabant in the upper quarters, with additional territorial arms in the lower quarters. A smaller escutcheon is placed at the center over the cross. The whole is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the ducal titulature legend in Gothic uncial lettering running around the outer rim, reading PhS:D VX:BV RG:BR AB:Z:L, abbreviated from Philippus Dux Burgundiae Brabantiae et Limburgiae.
