Obverse description Standing figure of Britannia facing left, helmeted and robed, holding a trident in her left hand and extending a laurel wreath in her right over a large lion standing right. A rectangular cartouche in the field bears the individually cast name of the recipient (here HARRY TAYLOR). Two dolphins appear in the field to the left, and an oak spray is visible at lower right, with an eagle being trampled beneath the lion. The designer's initials E.C.P. appear at lower right.
