| Descrizione del rovescio | A great helm surmounted by the Visconti biscia — the crowned serpent devouring a figure — serves as the central crest device. Beneath the helmet is displayed the Visconti quartered heraldic shield, flanked by the initials I and M (for Iohannes Maria) in the field. The entire composition is set within a squared quadrilobe frame with annulets placed in the four external angles, a design convention typical of Milanese gold coinage of this period. A circular Latin legend in Gothic uncial lettering runs around the outer border. |
