| Obverse description | Armored and crowned bust of Duke Charles Emmanuel I facing right, depicted in three-quarter view with elaborate curled hair and ruff collar, his left hand resting on the hilt of his sword. The effigy is rendered in a bold, slightly crude hammered style typical of early seventeenth-century Savoyard coinage. A beaded inner border frames the design. The circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, interrupted by separating dots and pellets. |
