Obverse description A displayed eagle perched on an oak branch, bearing the heraldic shield of Neuchâtel on its breast, flanked by oak sprigs in the lower field. Two large flags — the Swiss federal flag and the cantonal flag of Neuchâtel — billow behind the eagle. To the lower right, a detailed view of the Château de Neuchâtel appears in low relief, with the engraver's signature F. LANDRY incused at the base.
