The legend LAUSANNE arcs across the upper field and the date 1909 appears in the lower left, with the engraver's signature visible in the lower right exergue area.

Reverse description A detailed panoramic view of the city of Lausanne occupies the central field, with prominent church spires and civic buildings in relief. A radiant Swiss cross rises above the skyline at the top. In the lower portion, two heraldic shields — the Vaud cantonal arms bearing the motto LIBERTÉ ET PATRIE and the Lausanne civic arms with an eagle — are flanked by foliate sprays. The circular legend arcs along the lower rim.
