| Obverse description | Central device consisting of a crowned Tudor rose, the crown rendered in low relief above the rose motif, all enclosed within a plain inner circle. The surrounding legend reads VILLA·LOWISTOFF·SVFFOLK in raised Latin capitals, separated by stops, running clockwise around the periphery. A rope or beaded border encircles the entire design. The overall style is consistent with mid-seventeenth-century provincial hammered copper token coinage. |
