| Reverse description | A large, ornately detailed St. Edward's Crown occupies the central field, surrounded by a wreath composed of the national floral emblems of the United Kingdom: Tudor roses for England, thistles for Scotland, shamrocks for Ireland, and leeks for Wales, all rendered in fine relief. The date 1936 appears on either side of the crown within the wreath. The word TRIAL is inscribed vertically to the left of the crown within the inner field. The peripheral Latin legend reads · FID · · DEF · · IND · · IMP · in the upper arc and · EDW · VIII · in the lower arc, separated by decorative stops, all contained within a beaded border. |
