| Mô tả mặt sau | A large Imperial State Crown rendered in fine relief occupies the centre of the field, its arches surmounted by a cross pattée and jewelled band depicted in intricate detail. The date 1936 appears above the crown, flanked on either side by the numerals within the composition. Encircling the crown is a decorative wreath composed of Tudor roses, Scottish thistles, and shamrocks, tied at the base with a ribbon, evoking the floral emblems of the United Kingdom. The peripheral legend, separated by raised dots, reads FID · DEF · IND · IMP · 1936 TRIAL · EDW. VIII ·, with the word TRIAL also inscribed in small letters at the lower left of the inner field. The whole is contained within a finely reeded rim. |

Edward VIII abdicated in December 1936 before any circulating coinage bearing his effigy reached production, leaving an almost complete void in the British numismatic record for his reign. The "Wreath" Crown was among the designs prepared but never issued. This 2017 copper piece is a modern fantasy restrike — not a period trial — produced to satisfy collector demand for an object that history refused to create.
