Additional information

Neither Beatrix nor Margriet ever appeared together on an official Dutch 5-cent piece, and Pieter van Vollenhoven — a commoner who married Princess Margriet in 1967 — held no dynastic title that would warrant coin portraiture. This is a fantasy piece, produced outside any mint authorization, exploiting the 1981 abdication of Queen Juliana and accession of Beatrix as a commercial opportunity during a period of heightened public interest in the House of Orange-Nassau.
