Bhanudeva IV was the last ruler of the Eastern Ganga dynasty, which had controlled Odisha for roughly five centuries. His reign ended when Kapilendra Deva overthrew him and founded the Suryavamshi Gajapati kingdom — a dynastic rupture that permanently closed the Ganga chapter in the region's political history. Fanams of this terminal reign are consequently scarce, produced within a narrow ten-year window before the mint apparatus changed hands entirely.
