| Popis líce | Irregular rectangular flan struck in copper, displaying a two-line Arabic legend in a plain field. The inscription reads 'ضرب بفاس' (Struck at Fas), arranged horizontally across the flan in a bold, informal Maghribi script characteristic of Moroccan hammered coinage of the mid-seventeenth century. The surfaces show natural patination with areas of green cuprite, consistent with age and burial. Flan edges are irregular, typical of hand-cut hammered issues from this period. |

The Dila'i Sultanate — a Sufi zawiya-state centered on the Dila' lodge in the Middle Atlas — briefly controlled much of Morocco during the power vacuum that followed Sa'adian collapse. Between roughly 1060 and 1067 AH, Muhammad al-Hajj pressed copper falus at a moment when the dynasty's reach extended even to Fez. The Alawi sharif Moulay al-Rashid crushed Dila'i power definitively in 1668, burning the zawiya itself. Copper issues from this sultanate are poorly documented and rarely surface; A#581A remains one of the few catalogued attributions for this ruler's coinage.
