| Obverse description | Crude hammered field bearing a multi-line Arabic legend in Naskh script, arranged across the central area of the flan. The inscription references the Sharqi dynasty Sultanate of Jaunpur and the regnal authority of Sultan Hussain Shah, with the AH date 868 (1463-1464 CE) appearing within the legend. The flan is irregular and the striking is typical of the roughly produced copper coinage of the Jaunpur Sultanate, with weak areas and uneven surfaces throughout. |
