| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crudely struck hammered copper flan bearing a multi-line Arabic legend disposed across the field, divided by a bold horizontal line characteristic of Ahmadnagar Sultanate coinage. The lettering, rendered in a rough but legible Naskh-derived hand, occupies the upper and lower registers of the die, with additional decorative or calligraphic elements visible at the periphery. The surface displays the typical irregular fabric of hand-struck provincial coinage of the Deccan Sultanates, with flat areas and die shift evident. Overall, the design reflects the austere epigraphic tradition of the Nizam Shahi series. |

Burhan Nizam Shah III ruled Ahmadnagar as a Mughal puppet — installed by Emperor Jahangir in 1610 after the sultanate had been militarily broken and its capable regent Malik Ambar temporarily displaced. The fractional falus denominations struck during his reign reflect a local copper economy still functioning under occupation, even as the Mughal administration steadily absorbed the sultanate's treasury and administrative machinery.
Ahmadnagar was formally annexed by Shah Jahan in 1636, nearly a decade after Burhan's reign ended.
