| Reverse description | Irregular hammered reverse flan bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription divided by a horizontal line or cartouche bisecting the field, a design element common to Golkonda copper coinage of Abd Allah Qutb Shah. The lettering is bold and somewhat crudely executed, consistent with provincial mint production. The field shows patches of green verdigris patination over a dark brown copper surface. The overall strike is off-center and the flan edges are irregular, characteristic of hammered Deccan copper issues of the mid-seventeenth century. |
