Sijistan's copper coinage during the Abbasid Revolution occupies an awkward administrative moment — the province was effectively in flux, its Umayyad governors losing grip as Abbasid forces swept eastward following the decisive victory at the Battle of the Zab in 750. A fals attributed to Sulayman b. Abd Allah in 755–756 suggests either residual Umayyad administrative inertia or local mint officials continuing to strike under a governor whose authority was already a fiction.

Copper from this transitional window is poorly documented and rarely surfaces in excavation contexts with clean attribution.
