| Reverse description | The reverse displays a multi-line Arabic field legend in the central area of the irregular copper flan, bearing the name and title of the Chagataid ruler Alughu Khan. The inscription is arranged in horizontal registers across the field, following the standard format of Mongol fals coinage of the period. The lettering is rendered in a bold, somewhat cursive Arabic hand consistent with mid-thirteenth century Central Asian mint practice. Edge chips and fissures are visible, characteristic of the hammered production technique and the brittle copper alloy used. No mint name or date appears to be present on this face. |
