Obverse description Central field dominated by a Seal of Solomon (six-pointed star) rendered in a bold, deeply struck style characteristic of Ottoman provincial hammered coinage, with a decorative interlaced knot motif at the centre of the star. The design occupies most of the flan, which is irregular in shape and shows typical striking weakness around the periphery. The Seal of Solomon device is enclosed within a roughly square or polygonal cartouche formed by the junction of the star's triangles. The surface shows uneven relief consistent with hand-hammered production. No border or legend appears on this face.
