Obverse description Central cartouche enclosed within two concentric circles bearing the multi-line Arabic honorific and regnal inscription of the sultan. The inner circle frames the main titulature, while the surrounding annular band contains the continuation of the legend. The inscription reads in full the titles and name of Sultan al-Malik al-Salih Salah ad-Din Haji II. The text is rendered in a conventional Mamluk Naskh-influenced hand typical of late 14th-century Damascene mint production. The field outside the outer circle is plain.
