| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bears a stylized lion or heraldic device within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a marginal Arabic legend running continuously around the circumference. The inscription, struck in a bold angular hand, fills the border band and is contained between two concentric circles. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of hammered Mamluk copper coinage. The overall design is characteristic of provincial Mamluk fals struck at Trablus (Tripoli) during the reign of Rukn al-Din Baybars II. |
