| Description de l’avers | Central field bearing multi-line Arabic inscription in angular Kufic script, arranged in horizontal registers across the die. The legend, characteristic of the so-called threatening type issued under Ögedei Khan at Samarqand, is executed in crude hammered relief typical of early Mongol provincial coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly broader than the die, with the inscription occupying the majority of the field. Surface shows characteristic wear and oxidation consistent with copper-based coinage of this series. |

The text, rendered in a crude Kufic hand, is characteristic of the Mongol fals coinage struck at Samarqand under Ögedei Khan. The broad, irregular flan extends beyond the die, and the strike is uneven, typical of hammered issues of this period. The surrounding field is plain, with no additional ornamental devices. |
