| Obverse description | Central field bearing multi-line Arabic inscription in angular Kufic script, arranged in horizontal registers across the die. The legend, characteristic of the so-called threatening type issued under Ögedei Khan at Samarqand, is executed in crude hammered relief typical of early Mongol provincial coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly broader than the die, with the inscription occupying the majority of the field. Surface shows characteristic wear and oxidation consistent with copper-based coinage of this series. |
