| Reverse description | The reverse field carries a multi-line central inscription in Arabic Kufic script reading: لله محمد رسول الله نوح بن منصور ('For Allah / Muhammad is the messenger of Allah / Nuh ibn Mansur'), identifying the Samanid ruler Nuh ibn Mansur (r. AH 343–387). The surrounding marginal legend reads: لله الأمر من قبل و من بعد و يومئذ يفرح المؤمنون بنصر الله, a Quranic quotation from Surah Ar-Rum (30:4–5) meaning 'To Allah belongs the command before and after, and on that day the believers will rejoice in the victory of Allah.' The legends are rendered in angular Kufic script consistent with late Samanid epigraphic convention, with no decorative or figural elements present in the field. |
