| Reverse description | The reverse displays the concluding element of the mint formula in bold, flowing Arabic script rendered in a tuğra-inspired calligraphic arrangement, occupying the majority of the irregular hammered flan. The inscription reads 'al-Mahrusa' (The Well-Protected), a conventional Ottoman epithet appended to mint names to invoke divine protection. The lettering, while bold, shows the characteristic weakness and doubling of a well-worn working die, with the flan edges irregular and slightly uneven from manual cutting. The flat, porous copper field is typical of base-metal provincial coinage produced at the Sa'dah mint during the reign of Murad III. |
