| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend arranged within a double-lined square cartouche, typical of Mongol-period Islamic coinage. The inscription, rendered in an angular Kufic-influenced script, contains the name and titles of the Great Khan Möngke. A circular marginal legend surrounds the central square, partially legible owing to the irregular flan and surface wear. The flat, unraised field exhibits a mottled olive-brown patina with traces of original copper-red visible in the deeper recesses. |
