Fals - Imran b. Isma'il Revolutionary period - Abbasid Revolution

Imran b. Isma'il was one of the provincial governors operating under the Abbasid revolutionary movement that overthrew Umayyad rule, with the revolution itself launched from Khurasan in 747 under Abu Muslim. Copper fals of this period were issued by regional commanders with considerable autonomy — central mint authority had effectively collapsed before the new dynasty consolidated control. Album 194 is among the rarest categories in early Abbasid copper, reflecting both the brevity of the revolutionary transitional phase and the negligible survival rate of base-metal issues from active military zones.
