| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a stylized Arabic inscription in Naskh or Nasta'liq script, rendered in bold, heavily intertwined strokes characteristic of 16th-century Central Asian copper coinage. The legend, partially legible due to die wear and irregular flan, is framed by a decorative border of schematized floral or foliate elements radiating from the periphery inward. The right portion of the field is largely blank, a common feature of this hammered type struck on an irregular planchet. The overall execution is typical of provincial Timurid or early Shaybanid workshop production, with deeply cut but roughly finished die engraving. |
