| Obverse description | The obverse displays the applied Andijan countermark — a rectangular cartouche struck onto the host fals — bearing Arabic script legend in two lines reading 'dangi zarb Andijan' (meaning 'dang struck in Andijan'). The lettering is rendered in a bold, somewhat angular Naskh-style Arabic script characteristic of Timurid-era provincial coinage. Portions of the original Bukhara mint fals host coin legend are visible in the field surrounding the countermark cartouche, partially obscured by the overstrike. The irregular flan, typical of hammered Central Asian copper coinage of the period, shows green patination and surface porosity consistent with age and circulation. |
