| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Arabic religious inscription arranged in horizontal lines within a plain inner circle. The shahada fragment reading 'la ilaha illa Allah / wahdahu la sharika lah' (There is no god but God, alone, without partner) is the dominant design element. The legends are executed in Kufic script typical of early Abbasid copper coinage. The coin surface is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with hammered flan production. The field shows natural granularity and patination characteristic of base-metal provincial issues. |
