| Beschrijving voorzijde | Heavily worn bronze flan bearing the faint remnants of a standing figure or caliphal symbol in the central field, characteristic of the transitional Umayyad provincial coinage struck at Tabariya (Tiberias). The design, executed in the coarse hammered style typical of Bilad al-Sham provincial fals, is largely obscured by extensive patination and surface corrosion. A dotted border encircles the periphery of the flan, partially visible along the upper rim. The overall type reflects the anonymous issue series produced under Umayyad authority following the monetary reforms of 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan. |
