Obverse description Central field contains a three-line Arabic religious inscription executed in angular Kufic script, enclosed within a plain linear border. The legends are arranged in horizontal registers across the flan, typical of early Abbasid anonymous copper coinage. The coin is crudely struck on an irregular flan, resulting in slight distortion of the lettering at the edges. The overall style is characteristic of provincial Abbasid mint production, with the script rendered in a bold, if somewhat rough, hand.
