The legend completes the Shahada and provides the mint attribution, reading: 'Muhammad is the Messenger of God, struck in Jurjan.' The mint name Jurjan appears prominently in the final line, identifying the place of issue as the Caspian coastal city in northern Iran. A circular border encloses the inscription. The flan is irregular and slightly worn, consistent with hammered copper production of the Abbasid period. |
