| Obverse description | Central field bears a three-line Arabic Kufic legend reading the first part of the Shahada, 'lā ilāha illā Allāh waḥdahu' (There is no god but God alone), arranged in horizontal registers within a plain inner border. The surrounding marginal area is largely plain with irregular flan edges typical of hammered copper coinage of the Abbasid period. The die work is characteristic of provincial Fars mint production, with slightly uneven letter spacing reflecting hand-struck technique. |
