Reverse description Reverse field displays a two-line Arabic inscription in early Kufic script identifying the mint of issue, preceded by the Basmala invocation. The legend references the mint at Dar'at, a town in the Hauran region of Greater Syria. The die work is rough and characteristic of provincial Umayyad copper production, with an irregular, slightly convex flan and no decorative border. The lettering is compact and somewhat crowded within the available field space. Flan cracks and surface patination consistent with ancient copper are visible.
