Obverse description Central motif of a stylized palm tree with spreading fronds, rendered in low relief against a plain field. A horizontal baseline or ground line is visible beneath the trunk, with partial Arabic inscription flanking the palm tree on either side. The design is characteristic of early Umayyad post-reform transitional coinage from the Damascus mint, exhibiting the irregular flan typical of hammered copper issues of this period.
