Reverse description Central field displays a multi-line Kufic Arabic inscription referencing the Prophet Muhammad as the messenger of God, surrounded by a circular marginal legend identifying the Damascus mint. The inscription is arranged in three lines within a single dotted or linear border. The script is early Kufic, boldly struck but showing typical die wear and flan irregularities consistent with hammered Umayyad fulus. The overall design follows the purely epigraphic convention established by the Umayyad monetary reform.
