| Obverse description | Central field bears a three-line Kufic Arabic inscription reading the Shahada (profession of faith), enclosed within a single circular border. The lettering is rendered in an early angular Kufic style typical of Umayyad copper coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, characteristic of hammered production. No figural imagery is present, consistent with the aniconic reform coinage of the Umayyad period. |
