| Reverse description | Central field contains a three-line Kufic inscription reading the Prophetic testimony, enclosed within a single circular border. Surrounding this inner circle, a continuous marginal legend in Kufic script carries the mint authority formula invoking the name of al-Amir Ismail with the pious invocation 'azzaz Allah nasrahu' (may God strengthen his victory). The overall design follows the standard epigraphic type of Abbasid provincial copper coinage, with no figural imagery. The flan is irregular, with characteristic uneven edges resulting from hammered production. |
