| Obverse description | Within a beaded circle, the Islamic profession of faith (kalima) rendered in Arabic Kufic script, arranged in multiple lines across the field. The inscription reads the shahada declaring the oneness of Allah, with no figural imagery, consistent with the aniconic reform coinage introduced under the Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, characteristic of hammered copper production of this period. |
