| Obverse description | Central field bears a three-line Arabic Kufic inscription arranged within an undecorated square or rectangular frame, reading the Islamic declaration of faith. The surrounding marginal legend runs along the inner border of the coin. The striking is characteristic of early Umayyad provincial hammered coinage, with an irregular flan and somewhat uneven die impression typical of the Arminiya mint. |
