| Obverse description | Crudely struck obverse bearing the Arabic Shahada inscription in Kufic script, reading 'لا إله إلا الله' (There is no god but God), arranged within the field. The lettering is characteristic of early Umayyad provincial coinage, rendered in an informal hand typical of lead fals struck at peripheral mints. The flan is irregular and shows typical surface porosity associated with cast lead planchets. Overall striking quality is rough, consistent with the anonymous provincial issues of al-Bahrayn. |
