| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the first part of the Shahada (kalima tawhid) inscribed in early Kufic script across multiple lines, reading 'There is no god but Allah alone.' The inscription is presented within a circular inner border, with a marginal legend encircling the field containing the date or additional formulaic text. The die work is characteristic of early Umayyad anonymous copper coinage, with bold but somewhat roughly executed lettering typical of the transitional pre-reform period. |
