Obverse description Within a plain and dotted eight-pointed star (octogram), a central Arabic legend reading 'Al-Melik al-Zahir' occupies the inner field. The interstitial segments of the star contain additional legend portions, partially off-flan due to the irregular hammered fabric. The surrounding marginal border carries the mint name and AH date in Arabic script, arranged in a circular legend. The composition is framed by a dotted border.
