Reverse description Irregularly shaped reverse field bearing a multi-line Arabic legend in Naskhi script arranged in horizontal registers across the flan. The inscription records the mint city of Hamah (ضرب بحماة), followed by the pious funerary phrase 'كفى بالموت وعظا' ('Death suffices as a reminder'), and the date expressed in words as the year seven hundred and ninety-nine AH (سنة تسع تسعين, i.e. 799 AH / 1397 CE). The surface carries a thick olive-green patina consistent with extended burial, and the flan edges are ragged and irregular as typical of Mamluk hammered copper issues. The lettering, though partially obscured by corrosion, retains sufficient relief to confirm the attribution.
