| Obverse description | Within a circular border, the sultan's titulature is arranged in three horizontal registers separated by two parallel lines. The uppermost register bears the word 'al-Sultan', the central register 'al-Malik al-Zahir', and the lower register 'Abu Sa'id', all struck in angular Mamluk Arabic script. The overall composition is characteristic of late Mamluk copper coinage, with the inscription filling the entire field. |
