背面描述 The reverse field is occupied entirely by a multi-line Arabic Kufic inscription naming the reigning Abbasid caliph al-Mustadhi as Commander of the Faithful, arranged in horizontal lines across the flan. The legend is contained within a beaded inner circle, with a dotted border running along the coin's periphery. The hammered strike has produced some weakness and irregular die alignment consistent with 12th-century Islamic copper coinage. No mint name or date is visible on this face.

附加信息

Al-Salih Isma'il inherited the Zengid emirate of Aleppo as a child, his reign managed almost entirely by the regent Gümüshtekin — and later contested by Saladin, who besieged Aleppo repeatedly between 1174 and 1176. The fals coinage of this period is administratively interesting precisely because it was issued in the name of a ruler who exercised almost no personal authority; the mint at Halab continued functioning through sieges and shifting loyalties, supplying the copper small change that markets required regardless of who was actually in control.
