背面描述 The reverse features a prominent central rosette or multi-armed swirling spiral motif, rendered in bold relief, characteristic of late Mamluk fals coinage. The rotating pinwheel design, composed of curved radiating arms, fills the central field and is surrounded by a marginal Arabic legend encircling the coin. The overall design is typical of the decorative reverse types employed on Mamluk copper issues of the late fifteenth century, struck on an irregular hammered flan.

附加信息

Al-Nāṣir Muḥammad IV reigned for roughly two years before being deposed in 1498, one of the many short-lived sultans who cycled through Mamluk power during the sultanate's terminal decline. By the 1490s the Mamluk fiscal system was under acute strain — Venetian competition and the Portuguese rounding of the Cape of Good Hope were already beginning to strangle the spice trade revenues the sultanate depended on. Copper fals of this period circulated in increasingly debased economic conditions.

His deposition came at the hands of the same Circassian military factions that had placed him on the throne.
