Reverse description The reverse field is similarly dominated by a multi-line Arabic inscription in Naskh script, disposed across several horizontal registers within a plain or dotted inner border. The legend records religious formulae and/or the name of the Abbasid caliph al-Nasir, acknowledging suzerain authority in accordance with standard Artuqid numismatic practice. A circular marginal legend or partial border runs around the periphery of the flan. The hammered flan is notably thick and irregular, and the strike is slightly off-center, with characteristic uneven metal flow. Green and brown patination covers the surface uniformly.
