| Opis rewersu | Reverse presents an Arabic Kufic legend struck in shallow relief across the irregular square flan, the die impression partially off-centre as is common for hammered Rassid copper issues. The inscription lines are compressed within the field with no surrounding marginal legend or decorative frame. The flan edges show chamfered facets from the cutting of the blank. Die wear and metal flow have rendered portions of the legend weakly struck, lending the surface a worn, granular texture. The patina is a mottled reddish-brown with localised green oxidation. |

Al-Mutawakkil Sarafaddin Yahya ibn Yahya was the Zaydi imam who reestablished Rassid authority in Yemen after a prolonged period of fragmentation, ruling from Sana'a during one of the dynasty's more stable intervals. Zaydi copper fals of this period were struck in limited quantities and circulated within tight regional economies — highland Yemeni markets with minimal integration into the broader Abbasid monetary sphere. Most have survived in poor condition precisely because they did circulate, hard.
