| Obverse description | Purely epigraphic design consisting of three horizontal lines of Arabic Kufic script arranged within a central rectangular field, enclosed by a single inner linear border and an outer dotted (pearled) border. The central field bears the Shahada in its components, with the mint name Qinnasrin incorporated into the lower legend. The field and legends show the characteristic flat, angular Kufic style typical of early Abbasid copper coinage. No figural imagery is present, consistent with Islamic aniconic numismatic tradition. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, as is typical for hammered copper issues of this period. |
